Even Bill Clinton Supports UAE Port Deal

Former President Bill Clinton has been advising the United Arab Emirates recently on ways to quell anger from the American people so they can show themselves adequate to run many major U.S. Ports. Evidentally, Clinton was monumental in getting the UAE to recommend a 45-day delay to allow an investigation to prove that this deal wont hurt U.S. National Security. Clinton has even gone as far as to say that the UAE is "a good ally to America." Here is more info from the Financial Times:
Mr. Clinton's spokesman said: "President Clinton is the former president of the US and as such receives many calls from world leaders and leading figures every week. About two weeks ago, the Dubai leaders called him and he suggested that they submit to the full and regular scrutiny process and that they should put maximum safeguards and security into any port proposal."

The thing about this that makes me laugh about this is how PO'ed Hillary must be (first Monica now this...eeek). She is leading the fight in Congress to get this deal axed, and how her beloved husband is helping the UAE take steps to win the battle. Clinton's spokesguy said this:
He added that Mr. Clinton supported his wife's position on the deal and that "ideally" state-owned companies would not own US port operations.

Uh-huh.
