Supreme Court Tackles Partial Birth Abortions

Today the Supreme Court agreed to look at the constitutionality of the federal law banning partial birth abortions. The reason this is very interesting is because the court has changed very much recently with the new additions of Chief Justice John Roberts and the news member Justice Sam Alito. Partial birth abortions were outlawed in 2003, but a federal appeals court subsequently said it was unconstitutional. Obviously people on both sides of this issue are becoming very interested in these new developments as abortion is one of the most controversial issues in our nation. I personally dont see how anyone can agree with partial birth abortions. They are dangerous and incredibly barbaric. This decision has nothing to do with regular abortion, but I feel it could be a precursor to a bigger fight on that very issue in the near future, which does not bode well for you for-choicers as the Supreme Court continues to become more conservative. This one could get ugly.

Interesting that you think it "could get ugly." I believe abortion has been the most dividing social issue since...oh, this little case called Roe v. Wade.
